Parties interested in visiting individuals incarcerated in the county jail are required to register and schedule their visits online. This can also be done at either of the Sheriff’s office locations or at the kiosks located in the lobby of the jail’s visitation center.

Inmates are required to provide the jail with a visitation list, which can be updated on the first of each month, and only individuals named on the list are allowed to visit an inmate. Visitation hours are between 5:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, and visitations may be conducted either on-site or remotely. The county jail offers inmates one free 30-minute visit per day from Mondays to Thursdays. However, Friday visits are charged at a rate of $7.50 per 30-minute visit. This fee excludes any service charges issued by the service provider. All visitors must be at least 12 years old, and all adult visitors are required to have a valid photo ID that contains their current address and date of birth. Visitors between the ages of 12-17 will be required to provide proof of age, usually in the form of a birth certificate, and they must also be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

It is important to note that once visitors enter the visitation area, they are not permitted to leave and return. Once an individual leaves the visitation area, the visit is considered concluded.

Florida divorce records obtained from the state’s Department of Health cost a non-refundable search fee of $5 which covers the cost of one certified copy of the record. Additional copies of the same record cost $4 each, and a search fee of $2 per calendar year is charged if the requesting party does not know the exact year the divorce was granted. It should be noted that copies of divorce records for divorces that were granted prior to June 6, 1927, and copies of divorces for divorces less than 60 days from the date on the record can only be obtained at the clerk’s office.

Access to birth records less than 100 years old in the state of Florida is typically restricted to an adult registrant, the registrant’s parents named on the record, the registrant’s legal guardian, a legal representative of any of the aforementioned parties and individuals with a court order authorizing the release of the requested birth record. Birth records for deceased registrants may also be issued to the registrant’s spouse or adult children, grandchildren, and siblings. However, these parties will be required to provide a copy of the registrant’s death record.

Florida death records less than 50 years old that contain the decedent’s full social security number and cause of death are considered confidential and may only be accessed by the decedent’s spouse, parent, adult children, grandchildren, and siblings.
