The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) collates crime statistics for all counties in the state. Its most recent crime data for Collier County are for 2017. In that period, Collier County recorded 8,058 arrests, 996 violent crimes, and 4,392 property crimes. Compared to 2013, these represent a 27.8% fall in arrest rate, a 30.2% increase in violent crime rate and a 16.1% dip in property crime rate. A breakdown of crime figures in 2017 shows thatthe county recorded 7 homicides, 82 rapes, 155 robberies, 752 aggravated assaults, 233 motor vehicle thefts, 712 burglaries, and 3,447 larcenies.
The most recent five-year crime trend for the county indicates that robbery (36%), aggravated assault (35%), and motor vehicle theft (0.87%) rates went up between 2013 and 2017. On the other hand, homicide (71.4%), rape (24.4%), burglary (36.5%), and larceny (11.3%) rates fell in the same period.

Send your email requests to backgroundChecks@fdle.state.fl.us. For further information, contact the CJIS at (850) 410-8161. A certified background check takes 6-7 business days not including mail delivery time. Each criminal history search costs $24, a fee payable with a debit or credit card.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office makes local criminal background checks available on request. The fee for each check is $5. You can make a request online by visiting the Public Records Request page on the Sheriff’s website, or in person at the Central Records Bureau on the second floor of the CCSO Headquarters At the Government Complex.
The office also accepts mail requests for background checks. When submitting a mail request, provide the following information: name and date of birth of the subject of the background check. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check or money order in your mail request. Send these to:

Collier County Police Reports
The Collier County Sheriff's Office does not provide police reports. To obtain an incident or accident report, contact the police department in the city, borough, or town where the event occurred. For example, police reports for the City of Naples (the largest city in the county and the county seat) are provided by the Naples Police Department. The office is open from Monday through Friday except for holidays and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Police Department charges $1 per document for certified copies of police reports.Single-sided copies also cost 15 cents per page while double-sided ones cost 20 cents per page. Requests requiring extensive research and preparation attract additional charges. In addition to regular copy fees, the Police Department charges $21.55 per hour for such records.
Collier County Sex Offender Information
Florida law mandates the FDLE to maintain a database of registered sex offenders/predators living in the state. This agency gives the public access to this information via its website. To find an offender/predator in Collier County, visit the Florida Sexual Offenders and Predators Search page and fill in an address in the county. The search result lists all offenders/predators living within a 5-mile radius of the selected address in Collier County.The Collier County Sheriff’s Office also provides a regularly updated list of sex offenders living in the county on its website.

Collier County Court Records

The Circuit Court handles all criminal, estate, juvenile, property, and tax cases, as well as civil disputes involving more than $15,000. The County Court is the lower court in the county and it is also located in the same building as the Circuit Court. Most non-jury trials and civil disputes involving $15,000 or less are handled by the County Court.
The Collier County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller maintains all criminal and civil case records for the courts in the county. The Clerk provides online access to Collier County Court records via its Records Search portal for various fees. Vital Records
The Collier County Clerk of Court provides divorce records from June 6, 1927 to the present through the Bureau of Vital Statistics, Florida Department of Health. The Bureau makes these divorce reports available to the public and charges $5 for each copy of divorce report. There is an additional $2 per year search fee for requests submitted without year of divorce. You can request for this record in person at any of the three local offices of the Department of Health in the county. These are:

When making mail requests, you are required to send a signed letter or application along with the fee as a check or money order. Make the check or money order payable to the "Bureau of Vital Statistics."A mail request must include the full names of both spouses in addition to any names prior to first marriage, if applicable. Other required information include the date of the divorce and the city or county where the divorce was granted. The Bureau of Vital Statistics of the Florida Department of Health also maintains records of marriages, births, and deaths for Collier County. Marriage records from June 6, 1927 to the present are available at this office. Obtaining a marriage record also costs $5 per copy and requests can be made in person or by mail to the same addresses of the Florida Department of Health in Collier County (DOH-Collier) provided above.
Copies of birth and death certificates can be obtained from the Collier County Health Department. The Department provides certificates for Florida births from 1930 to the present. Only death certificates for deaths that occurred in Florida from 2009 to present are available. Death certificates prior to 2009 must be requested from the Bureau's office in Jacksonville. A copy of a birth certificate costs $12.00 while a copy of a death certificate costs $10.00. You can pay in cash when requesting vital records in person at any of the local offices, or by check or money order for mail requests. The office also accepts card payments with Visa and MasterCard.
