St. Lucie County Crime Numbers
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) aggregates crime statistics for all counties in Florida. It records show that in 2017, St. Lucie County recorded 10,565 arrests, 721 violent crimes, and 5,065 property crimes. Compared to 2013, these figures show that thatarrest rate (23.7%), violent crime rate (39.5%), and property crime rate (21.7%) are fell in 2017. A breakdown of the crime figures in 2017 shows that the county recorded 12 homicides, 83 rapes, 142 robberies, 484 aggravated assaults, 299 motor vehicle thefts, 881 burglaries, and 3,887 larcenies.
The most recent five-year crime trend for the county indicates that the only crime to record a higher number in 2017 compared to 2013 was motor vehicle theft (7.2%). In the same period homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and larceny rates fell by 20%, 25.2%, 17.9%, 45.8%, 53.4%, and 9.7% respectively.

St. Lucie County Police Reports
The Records Unit of the Sheriff’s Office also provides incident and accident reports for a fee. The Sheriff charges15 cents per copy plus postage for copies of these records. St. Lucie residents can send mail requestsfor these police reports to the address above.
Other law enforcement agencies in the county also provide police reports on request. Contact the police department in the city, borough, or town where the event occurred. For example, police reports for the City of Port St. Lucie (the largest city in the county) are provided by the Port St. Lucie Police Department while the police reports for Fort Pierce (the county seat) are provided the Fort Pierce Police Department. St. Lucie County Sex Offender Information
Florida law mandates the FDLE to maintain a database of registered sex offenders/predators living in the state. The agency gives the public access to this statewide registry via its website. To find an offender/predator living in St. Lucie County, visit the Florida Sexual Offenders and Predators Search page and enter an address in the county. The search result lists all offenders/predators living within a 5-mile radius of the provided address.

The Circuit Court handles all felony cases and civil disputes involving more than $15,000. Cases of misdemeanors, violation of municipal and county ordinances, and civil disputes involving $15,000 or less are handled by the County Court. The St. Lucie County Clerk of the Circuit Court maintains all criminal and civil case records for the courts in the county. St. Lucie County Vital Records
St. Lucie County divorce certificates are provided by the Bureau of Vital Statistics, Florida Department of Health. The Bureau only provides divorce reports from June 6, 1927 to the present to the public and charges $5 for each copy. There is an additional $2 per year search fee for requests submitted without year of divorce. Request for divorce records in person by visiting the Bureau's office at:

Marriage certificates for St. Lucie County are also provided at the state level by the Bureau of Vital Statistics of the Florida Department of Health. Only records of marriages from June 6, 1927 to the present, are availableand each copy costs $5. To request a marriage record by mail, download and complete this application. The requirements for requesting a divorce record are the same as for requesting a marriage record.
While birth and death certificates are also being provided by the Bureau, they can be obtained from local vital statistics and public health offices in St. Lucie County. The fee for a birth certificate is $17 while a death certificate costs $14. Fees are payable with checks and money orders. Make these payable to "St. Lucie County Health Department".
