How Does an Osceola County Inmate Search Work?

Per Florida Statutes, arrest records are generally regarded as public records in the state of Florida. This allows members of the public to request and inspect inmate data from the appropriate custodian. The above law also mandates that the jail's management as well as record custodians of other public establishments provide reasonable means of public access to records.

Online search tools allow people to search for inmates using names or ID numbers. Information typically found during an inmate search usually include full name, date of birth, arrest location, crime committed, and booking ID. Interested persons are allowed to download and print copies of the inmate information found on the website. People may also contact the records technician of the county jail to request arrest reports.

Where to Find an Osceola County Inmate Locator

The main inmate search option for finding persons held in the Osceola County Jail is the online method. Also, people may visit service kiosks in the jail's lobby to perform inmate lookups. Searchers can find both the daily arrest report and the current inmate database on the website of the Corrections Department.

The Florida Department of Corrections also provides the Offender Information Search website for state-wide inmate searches. To help people find federal inmates, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) provides an online search tool. In addition, certain third-party websites provide search tools that people can use to find inmate information.

To find inmates using any of the above-named tools, a searcher may be requested to provide one or more of the following information about the inmate of interest: first and last name, booking number, and ID number. Since inmates are released and added to the jail daily, causing arrest records to be updated several times a day, third-party sites will likely contain outdated information. As such, it is best that searchers only use locator tools provided by the involved corrections facility.
