What are Jackson County Arrest Records?

Jackson county arrest records are official reports that contain information concerning arrests made in the county within a given period. They're created by law enforcement agencies at the county or state level. Arrest records also provide details about arrest warrants issued to suspected offenders in the county and the number of alleged crimes committed. County arrest records may be broken down into violent and non-violent crimes, and into further categories like murder, rape, arson, etc. These records may even be provided according to gender or age.

To obtain copies of local and individual arrest records or warrants, interested persons may visit the Sheriff’s Office at:

4012 Lafayette Street,
Marianna, FL 32447
(850) 482-9624

Individuals may also conduct searches on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) website by providing the subject’s name and streamlining results by location (Jackson County).

Note: Arrest records only provide information on arrests, investigations, and alleged offenders but not convictions. These records do not provide definite proof about local criminal activities and should not be used as a substitute for conviction rates.

Crime Statistics

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is tasked with maintaining the criminal statistics for all counties in the state. According to 2018 data for Jackson County, the local law enforcement made 1,479 arrests and had 1,098 reported crimes. An analysis of the arrest report shows that the crimes with the highest arrests and issued arrest warrants were drug arrests, larceny, simple assault, and aggravated assault with 400, 168, 149, and 88 arrests respectively. There were also 2, 1, 5, and 68 arrests and issued arrest warrants for murder, rape, robbery, and DUI respectively. The statistics also indicate that larceny was the most common crime with 624 reported incidents.

What are Jackson County Criminal Records?

Jackson county criminal records are official documents which contain a summary of the criminal history or activity of a person who resides in the county. These records are also known as rap sheets and include information like names, mugshots, arrests, indictments, convictions, and sentences. Criminal records are generated by the local and state law enforcement agencies and maintained by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FLDE) who manages the criminal records for all counties in the state.

How Do I Get Jackson County Criminal Records?

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement provides access to criminal records on request. The division serves as the repository for criminal records in the state and maintains a database of criminal history information. Mail requests were discontinued on July 1, 2020. Members of the public may request criminal records using three other options: the instant search, the certified/non-certified search, and the ORI search.

  • Instant search: This is an online search on the FDLE website. Each search cost $24.00 and results can be obtained immediately, either by printing them or sending them via email for a $1.00 processing fee. The results are not certified.
  • Certified/Non-Certified search: This is a search done by an FDLE staff in the FDLE’s SHIELD system. The requester will provide demographic information that will be used by the staff to retrieve the criminal record. A fee of $24.00 is charged per search and individuals can have the results certified or may leave them as uncertified copies. Uncertified records take 5 business days to process while certified records may take a day or two longer.
  • ORI search: This is a criminal record check conducted by government agencies or authorized entities with Originating Agency Identifier numbers. For example, a background check done by the Agency of Health Care Administration.

The following steps may be taken when conducting any one of these searches:

Step 1: Determine the most suitable type of record search

Step 2: Gather necessary information like name, social security number, ORI number, fingerprints, or notarized consent as the case may be.

Step 3: Visit the site to conduct a search or make a request. Follow the step by step process.

Step 4: Provide accurate information on the search subject, the billing address, and mailing address if required. Individuals should ensure sure to narrow the scope by location i.e. Jackson County.

Step 5: Make payments and retain receipts

Step 6: Obtain record or search results.

Interested persons can make requests to obtain copies of criminal records maintained by the Sheriff’s Office by contacting the office at

4012 Lafayette St
Marianna, FL 32446
(850) 482-9624

Persons may also conduct background checks through third-party sites although a number of them are not sponsored by the government and cannot guarantee the authenticity of results.

Note: Payments to the FDLE must be made through credit or debit cards.

  • Visiting hours are 8:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m CST and time limits must be strictly adhered to.

  • Schedules can be fixed by calling (850) 482-9651 and providing extension 210. Callers can then specify the inmate they wish to visit and the visiting day and time will be provided for that inmate.
  • Visitors are subject to search and questioning upon visit. Prohibited items will be seized upon entry and released upon exit. Bringing in contrabands like money, phones, drugs, or weapons can lead to arrest and felony charges.
  • Adult visitors must present a valid, government-issued ID card and minors must be accompanied by parents or legal guardians.
  • The prison dress code must be respected. Revealing outfits such as see-through dresses, low cut tops, mini-skirts, sleeveless shirts, and metallic accessories, etc. are not permitted into the visiting area.
  • Video visits, if permitted, are to be pre-scheduled and the requester must have the required facilities.
  • Disorderly conduct by adults and children during visits will not be tolerated. Some violations of visiting rules may lead to termination or suspension of visits.
