Criminal Statistics
The Pembroke Pines Police Department, working with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), compiles and publishes crime statistics on major crimes within the city. According to records published for 2018, the city recorded a total of 3,647 crimes. Larceny-theft was the most common crime with 2,861 incidents, while aggravated assault incidents accounted for most reports of violent crime with 214 recorded offenses. Compared to 2017, the total crime rate decreased by 10 percent. Burglaries and auto thefts dropped by 36% and 23% respectively, while robberies slid by 13%.

How to Find Information on Registered Sex Offenders
Records of sexual predators registered in the state are maintained by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). It provides public access to information via a toll-free telephone and a searchable online registry. Members of the public can conduct searches by name or by restricting the results to a specific address. Searches can also be filtered to reveal registered sex offenders working close to any academic institution.
Court Records
The Broward County Clerk of Court serves as the central repository for different records, including civil, family, criminal, and juvenile court records. Interested parties can request electronic copies of court records online using the court’s digital platform. Requesters can also search through public case records, by party name, case number, citation number, and business name.
How to Find Divorce Records
Copies of divorce decrees issued in the county can be obtained by contacting the clerk of the courthouse where the divorce was granted.
In addition, members of the public can obtain copies of a divorce certification by contacting the Florida Dept. of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics. It maintains records of divorces dating from June 1921 to the present. The department charges a $5.00 fee for a certified report and $4.00 for each additional copy of the same certification. Requests must include relevant information about the record, such as the date of the divorce, the name of the county where the divorce was granted, and the name of both spouses (as at the time of the divorce). In addition, requesters must provide their name and mailing address.

The department charges $15.00 for each certified copy of a birth record and $15.00 for each certified copy of a death record.
Note: Records are only released to authorized persons, namely the individual on record (for birth records), parents, the decedent’s child, grandchild or sibling (death records) and legal representatives of the person named on the certificate.
How to Obtain Marriage Records
Records for marriages that occurred in Pembroke Pines from 1927 till present can be obtained from the Broward Office of Vital Statistics. Requesters must provide the full name of the spouses and date of marriage as well as their name and mailing address.
